“ At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:25-28
Good morning everyone,
Last night a friend was telling me about this place called Skyzone. I’m sure it is designed for kids, yet, there was one piece that registered - when you can go up top and simply dive into whatever (I’m sure it is not concrete).
I was soooo excited about going there someday. Then this morning I woke up and Satan said ‘Cari, grow up for heavens sake’. At first I felt so bad - like, how dumb to want to play. Then I picked up a study I’m doing again and came to a section about considering the person to whom God will continue to reveal Himself. And there it was in Matthew 11:25-28a- the childlike. I said to the Lord, "thank you," because I find great joy in playing in the space where I can stand on the edge and free fall into His arms. Living in the place of being unafraid- not being afraid that something will break! Not being afraid that I will get ‘hurt'. Not being afraid of the landing, but embracing the thrill of the free fall’.
I so hope a fearless life will be the marker of mine. But I realized as we become adults - the baggage of past experience, and seeing what can happen - causes us to ‘grow up’ in all the wrong ways. It causes us to be cynical, causes us to be so spiritually cautious in all the wrong ways BUT worst of all: causes us to be the opposite of Matt 11:25-28. For me, I pray God will reveal more and more- yet adulthood is not the opposite of childlike wonder and hope- it is complimentary to it!!
Much love Cari
