Hi Everyone,
Happy Thursday!
The story of the woman with the issue of blood who touched the hem of Jesus' garment and was healed is VERY FAMILIAR. However, there are two verses that deeply impacted me on a different level. Picture the scene: noise and crowds; like today, a more than noisy world. Yet Jesus turns and looks eye-to-eye with one woman. The noise stops, at least for her. Mark 5:33: the woman is trembling with fear of the Lord, falls down before Him and tells Him the whole truth!
I realized this morning this is what occurs daily with me. I fall down before Him and I tell Him everything (the truth). I don’t hide my sadness. I don’t hide pain of rejection. I don’t hide when I feel like I’m "bleeding out." I don’t hide my deepest flaws. I don’t hide where pride has reared up. And daily - day by day - God says, "Daughter, your faith has made you well." I may not feel totally well, but each day, as I’m honest, a healing and a deeper wellness occurs. This made me cry!
There is nothing more personal than God's stopping and turning to see ME in the noise. Others may not even notice a thing. The disciples even said to Him, "You see the multitude pressing in and you ask, ‘Who touched me?’" Yet, when we come, God notices - but not casually- there is a deliberate notice, and a deep encounter. I am that woman daily in the crowds!!! So are each of us as we daily make the choice to fall before His feet and tell Him the whole truth.
Much love,
Cari
